Day Two in the Life of Neelah

Day two finds everyone well and happy. Neelah is loved so much by her family, especially Dad. Eric holds her every chance he can. Can anyone say "wrapped around his finger"? I think she has already done that.
Neelah was enjoying all of the attention she had today by all of her visitors. She was being so good to pose for pictures and didn't cry. Seriously, Heather says that she is really a good baby and the only time she has really cried is when she was born and when Heather had to suck her nose out because she had spit-up and it got into her nose.
Mom is doing surprisingly well. She doesn't even have to have any pain medication and loves having a new baby.
Finn even loves his little sister. He wanted to hold her and kiss her.
YaYa is enjoying the new arrival as well. This makes number five - but who is counting. Each and every one is special and loved so much. Finally, while Mom, Dad and Neelah were at the hospital, Finn and YaYa hung out at home. After playing in the yard, taking a walk and having a bath, Finn decided to just hang out in YaYa's rocking chair before going to bed.

Neelah Miland Watson has arrived

At 2:30 this morning, Heather's water broke and she wasn't even ready with her bag or anything. She and Eric had to get everything ready and at 4:30 they left to go to the hospital. When she got there, she was only dilated to a 2, but was having contractions. At 7:00 Eric called me (Melody) and said that she was having pretty strong contractions. Then he called me back about 15 minutes later and said that they were not so strong, that I should wait to come. Finn and I stayed home and made sugar cookies. Then at about 10:30 he called and said that she was dilated to a 6 and that I should come. I started to pack everything up and was just leaving the house when Eric called again and said that I should come as fast as I could that Heather was fully dilated and ready to have the baby. Eric's mom arrived shortly before I arrived and shortly thereafter Neelah was born. Neelah arrived in this world this morning at 11:36 a.m. She weighs 7 pounds and 8 ounces and is 19 3/4 inches long. As you can see, she has quite a bit of hair and it is quite dark. This picture almost makes it look red but I don't think it is red.
Right after she was born, she started crying. She really has quite the set of lungs. She is really so beautiful though. She looks so much like her brother Finn. Finn kept saying "Neelah play at park with Finn." I don't think he really gets the whole concept that she is a baby.
Mom and baby are doing fine. Eric took Neelah to the nursery to have her first bath. YaYa and Finn came home to take a nap and Heather tried to take a nap as well. The delivery actually went pretty good and was not too hard on Heather.
Isn't this a beautiful family. Eric said shortly after Neelah was born "I have two kids" in wonder. I don't think it hit him until them. I am soooo proud of Heather and Eric and their family.

Beached Whale!

I am sorry to say that the only updates I have this morning are that I am STILL pregant!! I know that it is wishfull thinking for me to assume that Baby Neelah will want to come out early but seriously, there is NO ROOM IN THE INN!! It is said that the last month of pregnancy, the baby gains about half a pound per week. In my case that is another pound of baby before my due date. I am already being forced to evacuate my meals in a very quick manner (either way) because my stomach and intestines just don't have any room to hold the food.

This pic was taken last night as we got ready to go to the Jazz game. Mom got "Executive Sweet" tickets and so we had an awesome date night complete with gormet meal and everything. The seats were actually in a "private club" in the Energy Solutions center and they almost didn't let me in because I was wearing black flip flops. There is a dress code you see. I whipped out the pregnancy card so quick that they didn't know what happened and said that these were my only options for swollen feet! They had to call the owner but I got the go ahead...the manager says that the owners wife is prego too so he was sympathetic. Anyway.

Have a good Sunday everyone!

Childrens Discovery Museum

Last week, we went with the Rossi's to the Children's Museum for Family Home Evening. Here are some pics of the fun that the kids had. Here are Cam and Finn in the helicopter. You can see Jeff and Syd through the window.
This was actually taken about a month ago at the museum. Here Finn is in this tree house thing and he was just lounging on the toddler sized couch. Eric is determined to build one of these in our back yard. Eric calls it a hobbit house.
In the farm area of the museum, they have a replica of a horse. Here is Finn all saddled up. Finn especially liked collecting the eggs from the clucking chickens.
And last but not least, here are Amy, Camden and Finn as they record the evening news. There was a teleprompter and everything and the boys could see themselves on a TV just above the camera. That is really what Finn is so facinated in and what Cam is pointing at.

The kids had a blast!!

Update...

So even though this entry won't have any accompaning pics, I wanted to let you all know that I am STILL pregnant. Last night was a long and uncomfortable one where I was having decently strong contractions 20-40 min apart, all night long. But Alas, nothing more than that. I am still having contractions but since they aren't getting closer together, I will remain uncomfortable. As of last Friday I wasn't dialated at all really but 75-80% effaced...so says Dr Nielson. If you want to see a recent pic of us, check out the link on the left to the Rossi Possi website. Amy captured a FABULOUS one of me stuffing my face with Jeff's bday cake. Mmmmm....Yum!

Sleeping in the car...

My poor child is still suffering from the whole new Sunday schedule. Here we are yesterday, heading to the Watson's to eat Sunday dinner and he fell asleep reading this book. It is a book about trucks etc, as well as a doodle board. In his left hand, you can see that he is still holding the pen. The string is wrapped around his wrist and thus keeping it in the air. I promise it wasn't cutting off any circulation.

Today Finn stopped playing with his trains and came over to me and asked to see baby Neelah. When I lifted up my shirt to expose my MASSIVE tummy, he kissed it and then hugged it. I hope he remembers that he loved the baby once and that she isn't just some thing who takes the attention away from him. We shall see...4 more weeks to go!
