Halloween 2012

We have a mermaid, ninja, "tangled" Rapunzel, an athlete and Brody

Keegan's 2nd birthday!

Poor Keegan, he really got jipped on his birthday this year. Yaya was here this last weekend for Finn's baptism and Brody's baby blessing. It was a really busy weekend so when Keegan's birthday rolled around on Tuesday (election day no less) all I could muster up was a store bought cake.

At 2 years old, Keegan is so fun and so clingy at the same time. He LOVES his dad....LOVES!!! It drives Eric nuts that Keegan expects Eric's full attention AT ALL TIMES. Keegan loves to wrestle and tease. Unless he has a car/train/tractor in his hand, he is usually sucking on his thumb. His thumb and blanket are still very much his security go-to.

We are still working on talking. It's so different to have a child who doesn't speak full sentences at 15 months like the first 3 kids did. I try to encourage Keegan to use two words together ie. "mom, up" or "want juice" but he is taking his sweet time picking it up just as he did with walking. He didn't start walking until 20 months. It was interesting around here having two babies that didn't walk...

Brody's baby blessing

We were able to have Brody's baby blessing on Sunday. Eric did an amazing job! He began the blessing stating that Brody came to us under such special circumstances that we know he has an incredibly important life to lead.

He is such a happy baby! So smily like the rest of our kids. He has his own look, eyes like Savvy but unique in many other ways. I can't begin to explain just how special this little guy is. We were definitely not planning on having another child and then just as I was getting accustomed to the idea of having 5 kids we learn that he has problems with his kidney and isn't growing like he should. When he was born we saw that he had a full knot in his umbilical cord and so it's a miracle he lived at all. He is a healthy growing boy, average in size even though he started out at 3lbs 15oz. One working kidney won't stop this kid from living the life he wants!

How adorable is he in this tie?!?

Finnegan's Baptism

We had SUCH a great weekend! Finn chose to be baptized a member of the church and I still can't believe I have an 8year old son!! We were lucky enough to have Yaya fly in for the event.

I asked Finn if he wanted to invite any of his friends and the only one he wanted to invite was Julia. She is his best friend/girl friend. They are fast friends and very competitive academically. Finn doesn't like it much if he doesn't do as we'll on a test as Julia did. It was a really neat experience to invite a non member to his baptism.

Finn set the goal for himself that he would read the Book of Mormon before he was baptized and we are so proud of him that he completed his goal. He was very independent in reading each day. He is such an AMAZING boy!

We sure are proud and BLESSED to have him as our son!

Finn's 8th birthday

I can't believe that I have an eight year old !  This is what is going on with Finn:
He set the goal to read the Book of Mormon before he is baptized and completed it!
He is thrilled to be part of the Cub Scout program.
He is so SMART!  He loves to read and write and has such talent when it comes to analytical thinking and problem solving.

More fun in Utah

I loved being able to see my grandma and grandpa and Lyndsay and her kids. I don't get anywhere close to enough time with extended family. I loved being able to introduce Brody to everyone.

When we went to Morgan, Keegan was so funny! He found Grandma Colleen's mop and entertained himself for hours. Grandma got to love on Brody and hold him as she did in the dream she had while I was pregnant with him.

Brody at 5 months

This is my last baby and I am very aware of the milestones that are passing by. Brody is an Angel sent to our family. He brought the drama with him- all the worries about his kidney and small size. On top of those things he came early and extra small!  This year has been the most difficult of my life as a mother. I know Brody was sent by my Heavenly Father who has something specific to teach me...a lot of things really!  I love this child as I love all my children. They are my jewels.

Brody is the sweetest little baby ever. Being born considered premie, he is behind a little bit on a few things. At five months he's just barely discovering his feet and he loves it when I snuggle his feet with my eyes. He has had a little cold the last few weeks and the poor guy just can't quit coughing.

Trip to Utah

In September I took " the babies" to Utah for a quick visit. When I say quick, I MEAN quick!  5 days was really crazy!  Yaya and I made a day trip to St George to meet up with Brinn. It was so good to see her and meet her two youngest as well as catch up with her family.

Grandma Sharlene and the Watson's got to love on the boys for a day and we all really enjoyed that. Keegan loved the attention from Aunt Amanda. Being able to see Alisa, grandma, grandpa, great grandma Alene, April, Nate and Soren was great!

July 2012

July in Maryland is hot hot hot. We spent a lot of it outside playing in the water and eating as many Popsicles as we could!

Savvy's 4th Birthday

Notice the frosting covering the back of Keegan's head... He kept trying to smuggle some cake and ended up stumbling INTO the cake!
