Finn's 8th birthday

I can't believe that I have an eight year old !  This is what is going on with Finn:

He set the goal to read the Book of Mormon before he is baptized and completed it!

He is thrilled to be part of the Cub Scout program. 

He is so SMART!  He loves to read and write and has such talent when it comes to analytical thinking and problem solving. 

More fun in Utah

I loved being able to see my grandma and grandpa and Lyndsay and her kids. I don't get anywhere close to enough time with extended family. I loved being able to introduce Brody to everyone.

When we went to Morgan, Keegan was so funny! He found Grandma Colleen's mop and entertained himself for hours. Grandma got to love on Brody and hold him as she did in the dream she had while I was pregnant with him.

Brody at 5 months

This is my last baby and I am very aware of the milestones that are passing by. Brody is an Angel sent to our family. He brought the drama with him- all the worries about his kidney and small size. On top of those things he came early and extra small!  This year has been the most difficult of my life as a mother. I know Brody was sent by my Heavenly Father who has something specific to teach me...a lot of things really!  I love this child as I love all my children. They are my jewels.

Brody is the sweetest little baby ever. Being born considered premie, he is behind a little bit on a few things. At five months he's just barely discovering his feet and he loves it when I snuggle his feet with my eyes. He has had a little cold the last few weeks and the poor guy just can't quit coughing.

Trip to Utah

In September I took " the babies" to Utah for a quick visit. When I say quick, I MEAN quick!  5 days was really crazy!  Yaya and I made a day trip to St George to meet up with Brinn. It was so good to see her and meet her two youngest as well as catch up with her family.

Grandma Sharlene and the Watson's got to love on the boys for a day and we all really enjoyed that. Keegan loved the attention from Aunt Amanda. Being able to see Alisa, grandma, grandpa, great grandma Alene, April, Nate and Soren was great!

July in Maryland is hot hot hot. We spent a lot of it outside playing in the water and eating as many Popsicles as we could!

Savvy's 4th Birthday

Notice the frosting covering the back of Keegan's head... He kept trying to smuggle some cake and ended up stumbling INTO the cake!

First day of school 2012

Neelah started kindergarten in Miss Canter's class and Finn started second grade in Mrs Arnett's class. Neelah's most exciting part of the day was catching the bus. There were no tears shed by anyone only excitement. Savvy was a little sad that she was left behind but she is eager to begin pre school at St James in another week. 

Mom's Prayer On the First Day of School

Here we are again, Lord. Their backpacks are loaded and their faces are scrubbed and their lunch boxes are full.
And I know you'll walk with them, Lord. You always do. But a mom still has to ask.
Will You walk with them?

Will You whisper to them what they need to hear, when I'm not there to whisper it?
Will You please, oh please, cover their school with the protection only You can give, and will You keep harm far away?
Will You make their minds strong and ready to learn?
Will You help them understand that hard work honors the One who created them?
Will You guide their teachers, giving them patience and wisdom and creativity and more patience?
Will You bless them for their efforts?
Will You love all those children there, the ones whose lunch boxes aren't full, the ones who feel alone?
Will You teach my children to be kind and unselfish and to love those who are different from them?
Will You point them back toward home just as soon as you can?
Lord, I give them to You today and everyday, trusting them to Your care.

A little Neelah and Brody time

Sibling Love

These two cant get enough of Brody!

Keegan gets really jealous when anyone else holds Brody. He is constantly stopping whatever he is doing to give Brody a kiss on the forehead. Keegan always helps take wet diapers to the trash and can often be found trying to shove a pacifier in Brody's mouth.

Brody is 10 weeks today and he still sleeps like a newborn and cuddles like a little tree frog. At 9 weeks he was 8lbs 7oz...basically the size of the first three kids at birth. He is catching up slowly. I'm waiting for him to look at me and smile, hopefully that won't be too much longer. He did sleep 5 hours last night which was a tender mercy. If only Savvy hadn't been up all night...

I went outside today to try to get a picture that shows just how much red Brody has in his hair. This was the best I could do with the little amount of hair I had to work with. When Finn was born, his was a shade brighter red and then really brightened up as it grew in. I can't wait to see what happens with this little guys hair color. Throughout my entire pregnancy, all I said I wanted was one last redhead!

I just walked outside and saw this butterfly resting on my hydrangeas. Beautiful!

Today we are wasting the afternoon away by playing in the sprinklers. Actually, I wish that I was included in that "we". I get to focus on Keegan and Brody who are just playing and sleeping outside.

When Finn was younger ( in Hawaii ) we played outside in the pool every afternoon after naps. It was a nice routine.

Eric has class tonight so dinner is going to be something either really simple or something I get from a drive through. That means we are free to spend the afternoon/early evening outside.
