More of Neelah Walking

This post really is mostly for Eric. Bummer how he missed out on Neelah learning to crawl (he was in Hawaii) and learn to walk (as he is now in Iraq). As of yesterday, I would say that she is walking more than crawling and on top of that, she has her two top molars as well. (That is why she hasn't been sleeping!)

We love and miss you dad!

CONGRATULATIONS COURTNEY!!

For those of you who know my dear friend from elementary, junior high and high school Courtney England, I want to wish her all the best! She delivered this DARLING little boy yesterday and he was 10 lbs!!! Bless her!

CONGRATS COURTNEY AND DARYL!

Oh the things we learn...

Look Dad! I can unbutton my own shirt!

videos for daddy

Tonight we were thinking of Eric and wanting him to see some routine things that go on around the house. Neelah's newest thing is to check out her tongue in the mirror and it's even better when she has food in her mouth. We miss you so much Daddy!

cheating...

Okay so today I am lazy. But for your entertainment, click HERE to read the funniest blog entry I have read all week. Thanks Amy for making me laugh. Only your kid, I am thankful that Finn doesn't have a Spidey costume of his own.

TODDLERHOOD

The big day has come. Although she has been toying with the idea of walking for a little over a week now, Neelah has actually taken more than 5 steps at once. Even if she falls, she gets back up and tries again. So I guess what I am saying is that I consider myself to have a "toddler". Life is just going to get more and more interesting from this point on.

Churchill Downs-aka Kentucky Derby time!

Brinn took Brookie, Finn and I to Churchill Downs (where they hold the Kentucky Derby) to see some horse races. The kids loved it even though the races took all of 60 seconds each. We stayed for 2 of them and it was a cool experience to see all the hoity toity people there for the betting. Thanks Brinn!

Brindlefly and Feather

A little history...This picture is CLASSIC BRINN! Whenever I want a nice photo of the two of us, she has to go an make a rediculous face like this on. No, just because she lives in Kentucky doesn't mean she doesn't have any front teeth. She is married to a Dental Student for heavens sake! (Sorry to all of you offended by the Kentucky remark, I couldn't help myself)

This is more of the shot I was looking for. At least it is just a head shot and doesn't show the 15 lbs of WATER I put on while I was there. Seriously folks, I am SWELLING up like the blueberry girl on Willy Wonka an the Chocolate Factory. Only not so much blue. Any of you who knew me while I was prego with Finn? Remember my "cankles"? We are quickly on our way there. Maybe if it gets bad enough, I will post a photo.

Thanks Brinn and Family for letting us stay with you! We loved every second of it!

Photo Op

Trying to get all the kids to smile at once didn't pan out like I had hoped but they did pretty well considering. Aren't they adorable in Brinn's front yard?

Brookie was so good at helping Neelah walk.

Darling girlies!

A little Family Photo minus Eric. We sure did miss him while we were there.

Trip to the Louisville Zoo!

Some of you may know about our recent trip to Louisville Kentucky. Yes, I spent money on a trip to KENTUCKY! But really, I spent money (or in other words my mom's skymiles) to visit my Bestest friend Brinn and her family. We Have been friends since we were 11 and it was SO GOOD TO SEE HER! The following pictures are of our trip to the zoo. There was this cute little splash park and the kids, who were only supposed to put their feet in (yeah right!), got drenched! Above is my favorite picture of Brielle drinking the water.

Here we have the kiddies, Brooklyn, Brielle and Finn sitting so nicely on the turtle.

Unfortunately, you can't see the DARLING baby monkeys that were in this cage. There were 4 of them (I think) and they were so playful and cute.

Off to the side of Finn, that small speck of white...That is the albino crocodile. Uh, nice shot Brinn. The point was to get the croc in the shot too!

And what is a zoo trip without a ride on the train?

CHOOOO, CHOOO!!

Years mean nothing

Today I had the most wonderful surprise...a package in the mail!! In this day and age of email and blogging etc, it is rare to get something by post. My long-time friend Mandy sent me some DARLING burpers for the baby as well as a too cute outfit. How Sweet!! She has started her own company called Modern Pieces Quilts. Check it out HERE. I am in awe of her talent and patience! Some of these quilt are AMAZING and I know that I could never do anything like that. I am glad to know that someone loves it and that I can buy stuff from them instead of botching my own.

Check out her blog here and see the spectacular quilt (one picture shown below) she made for her daughter Tabitha.
Thanks again Mandy for the thoughtful gift.

PS everyone, I just bought some super cute stuff from her website and it is INCREDIBLY AFFORDABLE!! She also does custom stuff! Check it out!

snack time

Yes, this is a video of my children acting naughty at the table (counter). Yes, Finn is taking fishies and spitting them at Neelah, sometimes getting them on the tray, sometimes not. Yes, they are both giggling and after the way I feel today, I don't care what he spits out as long as Maile is there to clean it up. Go Doggy Vac!!

A glimpse into our Monday

What fun is having a girl to do her hair if she doesn't leave the cute bows and clips in? I swear my new battle with her is that she yanks at her hair (and whatever is decorating it) constantly. The poor child is going to be bald by the time she is 2!

This is yesterdays masterpiece. We were all covered in chalk but it was well worth it to be able to spend the day out in the beautiful sunshine.

Kids playing

When my kids play together and self-entertain, there is NOTHING BETTER!!

Blurb from Eric

"I went
to the branch here and it was pretty awesome. There
was like 10-12 people there. we had a fast and
testimony meeting. i bore my testimony and the spirit
was really strong during the whole meeting. I love
that I can travel all the way to Iraq where the church
it not even allowed except for our military and feel
the same spirit of peace that I feel back home. I hope
to cultivate that feeling while I'm over here."

I love my husband and am so proud of him!
